Mailrelay now offers integration with google analytics

We recently added a new feature in Mailrelay, email marketing, which we are sure will greatly facilitate the life of many of our customers. If you like to analyze all the details of your online marketing strategies, this new feature will help you a lot. Our software now supports Google Analytics, if you use it, all the necessary parameters and variables will be automatically added to all links in your newsletters, and will appear correctly in your Google Analytics account.

There are only two requirements that your account must meet, first, your Mailrelay account must have the statistics enabled, for example, all free accounts have enabled statistics, in addition, you need to have the Google Analytics code installed on your website. If you meet these two basic requirements, you already have everything you will need to use this new feature. Let’s understand how the feature works .

The first step is to pay special attention when creating or editing the newsletter, because you will see that there is a new field, Google Analytics Tracking. You should enter the name of your campaign in this field:


If you have previously used Google Analytics, you already know that there are several variables that can be used:

– Source

– Medium

– Campaign

In the case of Mailrelay the source will automatically be the ID of the sent message, preceded by the term mailing, for example, mailing128 and the medium is logically email. You can enter the name you want for the campaign, and this will be very helpful for you to find it later in the analytics reports.

After adding the name in this field, you can create the newsletter as before, including links without needing to make any manual changes:


When you send your marketing campaign, the message will arrive in the inbox of your subscribers:


And when the user clicks the link, the required parameters are automatically added as you can see in the following image:


As explained earlier, after each URL, the system will add the necessary values:

– Source -> utm_source: mailing128

– Medium -> utm_medium: email

– Campaign -> utm_campaign: Newsletter-August

Remember that the last value, which refers to the campaign, is the one you will insert when creating the newsletter. Keep in mind that it is important to choose a name simple and easy to remember. Later on, while analyzing the reports in Google Analytics, you can view this data, eg:


This is especially useful if you combine these strategies with goals, such as sales, registrations, or any goal you want, as you can see in this example :


By adding links to your email marketing campaigns and combining them with goals on your website, you will have important reports. These reports will offer you a lot of relevant information, so as to improve your online marketing.

    Con la función addCampaign existe la posibilidad de activar esta nueva funcionalidad.
