How to capture leads and send them to your Mailrelay account with Optingun

One of the latest plugins for capturing leads which added the possibility of working with Mailrelay directly is the Optingun plugin. A very easy to use system, as you don’t need to install anything else on your blog, and now this plugin offers integration with Mailrelay.

Note!
Although the images in this tutorial are in English, at the time of this article’s publication, Optingun is also available in other languages, offering even more improvements.

Since there is no need to install anything on your system, and it only works with Javascript code, it is likely that this tool will serve to display popups in:

  • WordPress
  • Joomla!
  • Prestashop
  • Magento
  • Or any other system

Personally, we only tested it on WordPress, but I think it should work regardless of the type of website you have installed.

Now, we’ll see a quick tutorial, so that you can see how easy it is to use this feature.

Capturing leads with Optingun

Before we start, you should first access the Optingun website.

optingun

Here you can click on the button at the top “Register” to create your account.

And when the account has been created, we can access the main panel.

We will see something like this image:

optingun

Although, as this tool is constantly evolving, you may see something a little different.

From this screen, we can see and do several things:

1.- View the overall rate of captured leads

2.- A summary of the visits of each popup

3.- Access the settings

4.- Create or edit forms

An important part will be:

To add the Mailrelay API key

So that the leads being captured are added to your Mailrelay account.

Where do we add the API key?

In the menu at the top, you can see in this image:

optingun

By clicking on it you can see that there is an option:

  •   API Configuration

This is the option that should be selected.

We will enter :

The API key

  • The account URL

With this we already have the correct settings, and we can prepare our capture forms, which can be popups or not, depending on what we need on our website.

Creation of capture forms

The first step is to go to the Forms menu in the top right corner:

optingun

When clicking, we will see a screen with a + symbol, such as the screen that you can see in the image below:

When you press this button, the wisard will begin to create the form:

Here we will have many types of forms:

  • Popups
  • Capture form for upper and lower bars
  • Forms that appear on the side of your pages
  • Inline forms
  • Etc.

The possibilities are varied, although I think what still works best is to use popup forms.

Be it when they open the page, or when the visitors are leaving the website.

Next, we will select the design.

Editing the capture form

The capture form will be edited on a screen such as this image is showing:

optingun

As you can see, changing texts is very easy, just click to edit them.

However, to edit the button texts, you will need to click on the “sprockets” on the left side of the page.

Rules and places

Next, we can define the different rules that should be used to display the opt-in form:

optingun

And also on which pages the form will be displayed.

We can even set the dates on which it will be displayed.

In addition, we can select whether it will be displayed on desktops and mobile devices.

There are enough options for us to create highly efficient forms.

The next screen gives us a few more options:

optingun

Like the thank-you message, the option to redirect to another page, etc.

And the integration with Mailrelay

Finally we have the screen where we can select the integration with Mailrelay:

Here we can choose Mailrelay and the group to which we will send the contacts.

And that’s it, this is the last step in the configuration of the popup.

Although you also have the option of running an A/B test, with several forms, we will not see this option at this time.

The next step

To copy and paste the capture form code

On the Forms screen, you can see a list of forms, and each one of them, offers the possibility to select the HTML code:

optingun

Clicking on the marked icon will generate a code like this:

optingun

This is the code that we have to copy and paste on our website.

For example, I’ve added it to a WordPress widget:

optingun

And the end result is a pop-up as you can see here:

optingun

As you can see, it is very simple to use Optingun

It allows us to create several functional capture forms, for any website, not just for wordpress.

This is great because many users ask us about how they can create opt-in forms for Joomla !, Prestashop, Magento, etc.

And there are not many options.

The truth is that Optingun seems like a very good option, because it can be integrated with Mailrelay in a very easy way.

What do you think?

Hola, 27 de Marzo de 2019 parece que la integracion solo funciona con cuentas premium. 🙁 Ya que con la cuenta FREE no me deja seleccionar la integracion.

Go to Optingun Dashboard API Configuration  and put your MailRelay Key and MailRelay Account URL  in MailRelay related fields and your connection between Optingun and MailRelay are connected automatically.

    Hola!
